Applications Now Being Accepted for Fellowship in Black Maternal and Reproductive Health

The NYU McSilver Institute for Poverty Policy and Research and NYU Langone Health Institute for Excellence in Health Equity (IEHE) have launched a unique fellowship aimed at advancing the promotion and practice of health equity, with a specific focus on Black maternal and reproductive health. This fellowship will drive forward a body of work that addresses the critical need to highlight and ameliorate disparities in healthcare outcomes and access, particularly among marginalized and underserved populations.

NYU McSilver brings its expertise in policy, human services, and community engagement to the fellowship, focusing on the social determinants of health and the impact of systemic inequities on vulnerable communities. McSilver’s commitment to innovative solutions and evidence-based practices aligns with its mission to create lasting change and improve the well-being of individuals and families.

NYU Langone Health’s IEHE brings a multidisciplinary approach to the fellowship, integrating clinical expertise, research, medical education, and community engagement. The IEHE is dedicated to reducing health disparities through the development, implementation and dissemination of evidence-based solutions to advance excellence in health equity outcomes.

Together, this partnership combines the strengths of both institutes to foster a comprehensive understanding of health equity issues. The fellowship will be awarded to an industry leader who will engage in a multifaceted and interdisciplinary experience aimed at addressing health disparities and promoting health equity, with a primary focus on Black maternal and reproductive health.

This joint fellowship and collaboration aims to generate actionable insights, influence policy changes, and conduct research that informs the implementation of evidence-based practices that promote equitable health outcomes and the intersection of maternal and reproductive health and poverty. By uniting McSilver’s social and community-focused perspective with IEHE’s clinical, education, and research-driven approach, the fellowship seeks to drive meaningful advancements in Black maternal and reproductive health and contribute to the development of inclusive and effective healthcare practices.
