The Evidence Based Treatment Dissemination Center Joins NYU McSilver Technical Assistance Centers

Strategic Transition Enhances Access to Evidence-Based Training for New York State Mental Health Professionals

The NYU McSilver Institute is pleased to announce that the Evidence Based Treatment Dissemination Center (EBTDC) has officially joined the NYU McSilver Technical Assistance (McSilver TA) Centers as of December 2025. Previously housed within NYU’s Child Study Center in the Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, this transition ensures the continuity of essential clinical training and consultation services for mental health professionals serving children across New York State.

Funded by the New York State Office of Mental Health (NYS OMH), the EBTDC delivers specialized training in evidence-based treatment protocols primarily via the Managing Adaptive Practice (MAP) system (PracticeWise, LLC). This will allow McSilver’s TA Centers to expand clinician access to proven, effective practices, the Center supporting high quality care and improved outcomes for children and families served by OMH-licensed programs.

“McSilver’s Technical Assistance Centers is honored to continue the longstanding and impactful work of the EBTDC,” said McSilver Deputy Executive Director Dr. Andrew Cleek. “We are deeply grateful for the foundation built by our longstanding partner Dr. Kimberly Hoagwood and colleagues and look forward to continued collaboration with the dedicated staff at the NYU’s Child Study Center in strengthening New York’s clinical workforce.”

The MAP Training Program

Central to the EBTDC’s mission is the Managing and Adapting Practice (MAP) training program. MAP is an innovative, evidence-based clinical system designed for providers serving children and adolescents. It emphasizes flexible, data-informed treatment approaches that improve clinical effectiveness and client outcomes.

To support equitable access to high-quality care, NYS OMH continues to sponsor MAP training at no cost for clinical staff working in OMH-licensed programs. Under the McSilver Technical Assistance umbrella, the EBTDC will continue to deliver MAP training seamlessly, reaffirming its commitment to workforce excellence. Clinicians interested in the MAP training program or other evidence-based training opportunities can find additional information and registration details through the Center for Workforce Excellence (CWE) website.
