B. Colby Hamilton is Chief Communications Officer of the McSilver Institute, where he helps facilitate the internal and external communication needs of the institute and its leadership, in pursuit of NYU McSilver’s mission.
Prior to joining the institute, Colby was Chief of External Affairs for the New York City Mayor’s Office of Criminal Justice. As a member of the office’s senior staff, he helped develop and pursue the promotion of the Office’s justice system reform and community empowerment agenda. He joined municipal government after nearly a decade of work as a news reporter at WNYC, POLITICO New York, the New York Law Journal, and elsewhere.
Colby is a graduate of the Craig Newmark Graduate School of Journalism at the City University of New York.
