Conversations with Dr. Tony is an ongoing series hosted by Dr. Anthony Salerno, the McSilver Institute’s Innovation and Implementation Officer.
In this presentation, Dr. Tony will speak with Dr. Pamela Morris, Professor of Applied Psychology at the NYU Steinhardt School of Culture, Education, and Human Development, about her work on youth suicide prevention and her lived experience as a suicide loss survivor. They will discuss the importance of community wide approaches that involve the collective role of healthcare, education, behavioral health and other community resources in preventing suicide and working towards an environment where offering or asking for help is as routine as buckling your seatbelt.
Dr. Morris recently described her experience and work on youth suicide prevention in a New York Times editorial called “I Don’t Want Another Family to Lose a Child the Way We Did.”
