On April 24, 2026, visiting scholars from the ACHIEVE Training Program presented their pilot research projects, highlighting innovative approaches to enhance cancer screening among women living with HIV/AIDs, improve assessments and diagnoses of infectious diseases among children, and leverage mHealth to improve service delivery for HIV-exposed infants. After the research presentations from Dr. Hawa Malechi, Dr. Gideon Kye-Duodu, and Dr. Nelson Ssewante, Dr. Ozge Sensoy Bahar, NYU McSilver Associate Research Professor and Senior Research Scientist, moderated an interactive Q&A session.

Held both online via Zoom and in person at the NYU Silver School of Social Work, the event exemplified the core mission of the NIH-funded ACHIEVE initiative. By pairing early-career African researchers with NYU mentors, the program enables scholars to expand their research capabilities, foster cross-institutional collaborations, and build global networks aimed at advancing critical public health outcomes in their home communities.
