About the Event

On Wednesday, September 6, 2017, top experts and a crowd of over 200 participants gathered at MIST Harlem to discuss suicide risk among adolescent Latinas and Black boys, as well as key contributing factors and solutions for what parents, families, schools, service providers and the community can do to support youth of color experiencing mental distress. Co-hosted by the McSilver Institute and Comunilife, Inc., this event gathered thought leaders from academia, mental health services, government, faith-based initiatives and individuals representing local families and communities. For more information about this event, including a forthcoming video recap, please make sure you have joined the McSilver Institute’s mailing list.
